About this sound

The Undertaker gong sound effect is the ominous bell heard in the WWE wrestler's entrance, used in memes and video edits to signal a dramatic arrival.

This three-second clip features the deep, ominous gong associated with The Undertaker’s wrestling entrance. The single metallic toll rings out and fades slowly, creating an immediate sense of suspense, danger, and theatrical dread. Wrestling fans recognize it as an audio cue that something serious is about to happen, while meme creators use the gong to make an ordinary entrance or sudden reveal feel unusually intimidating. Its brief length and powerful resonance make it especially effective as a dramatic transition, reaction cue, or punchline before a character appears.

The gong is closely associated with The Undertaker, the supernatural wrestling character portrayed by Mark Calaway. The character debuted at Survivor Series in 1990, and the tolling bell became a defining part of his elaborate entrance presentation. Its connection with darkness, funeral imagery, and slow arena walkouts made the cue instantly recognizable to wrestling audiences. As entrance clips circulated online, creators adopted the gong for memes, reaction videos, and dramatic reveals. It remains popular because one strike can evoke The Undertaker without requiring dialogue or music.
