About this sound

A short meme clip saying “This is big brain time,” used in reaction edits when someone does something clever, overconfident or absurdly overthought.

This sound is a very short spoken meme clip built around the line “This is big brain time.” It has a confident, announcer-like delivery that instantly makes a moment feel smarter, more dramatic or intentionally overhyped. Creators use it to underline clever plays, ironic life hacks, questionable genius and joke explanations that pretend to be high IQ. Because the clip is so brief, it lands fast and works well as a punchline right after a reveal, a sudden solution or a ridiculous idea that somehow seems to make sense.

“This is big brain time” became a widely shared internet reaction sound through meme edits, short clips and reposts across social platforms in the late 2010s. The phrase is used to label moments of supposed genius, whether the idea is actually smart or obviously foolish. Its staying power comes from how quickly it communicates “high IQ” sarcasm in under two seconds. In meme culture, it often fills the same role as a bruh reaction or a buzzer, depending on whether the joke is praise or mockery.
