About this sound

This anime voice clip features Megumin naming Kazuma's sword Chunchunmaru in KonoSuba, often used to reveal a silly name or dramatic new weapon.

In this short KonoSuba voice clip, Megumin explains that Kazuma’s sword is named Chunchunmaru. Her confident delivery makes the ridiculous name sound like a grand and meaningful title, creating a sharp contrast between heroic fantasy conventions and the series’ comedy. The clip works especially well as a punchline for an unimpressive weapon, an oddly named object, or any reveal that receives far more ceremony than it deserves. Viewers familiar with Megumin’s dramatic personality immediately recognize the joke, while the unusual sword name remains funny without additional context.

Chunchunmaru is the name Megumin gives to Kazuma’s sword in KonoSuba, the comedy fantasy anime based on Natsume Akatsuki’s light novel series. Megumin is voiced in Japanese by Rie Takahashi, whose theatrical performance heightens the joke behind the awkward name. The moment became recognizable through anime clips, fan edits, memes, and character compilations. It remains useful because it condenses a familiar KonoSuba gag into a brief exchange: dramatic presentation applied to something that Kazuma finds embarrassing rather than impressive.
