About this sound

The dramatic Final Smash activation sound effect from Super Smash Bros., used to punctuate power-ups, ultimate attacks, gaming edits, and reveals.

This short game audio cue signals the activation of a Final Smash, the powerful finishing move used by fighters in the Super Smash Bros. series. Its sharp opening, rising energy, and forceful impact create an immediate sense that a decisive attack is about to happen. Because the clip lasts only a few seconds, it works as a compact burst of tension without interrupting the pace of an edit. Viewers familiar with the games quickly associate it with heightened power, spectacle, and a possible turning point in battle.

Final Smashes are signature finishing attacks in Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros. series. The mechanic debuted in Super Smash Bros. Brawl in 2008, where fighters could gain access to these moves by breaking a Smash Ball. Later entries retained Final Smashes while adjusting how they are obtained and presented. Activation audio became recognizable because it accompanies one of each match’s most dramatic moments. Online creators continue using this kind of cue in gameplay videos, parody battles, power-scaling edits, and transformation sequences that need an immediate surge of anticipation.
