About this sound

A six-second shriek sound effect featuring a sustained, piercing cry. Its original source is unidentified, and creators use it for scares and shock reactions.

This sound is a six-second shriek built around a long, piercing cry rather than a quick scream. Its sustained delivery gives editors enough time to emphasize a frightening reveal, sudden accident, chaotic reaction, or exaggerated moment of panic. The sharp vocal quality immediately draws attention and can make an ordinary visual feel disturbing, startling, or absurdly dramatic. Because the clip lasts several seconds, it works especially well when the tension continues on screen instead of ending immediately after the initial surprise.

The original recording source and performer of this shriek are not identified. Online, sustained scream and shriek clips are commonly used as reaction audio in horror edits, gaming videos, prank scenes, and intentionally exaggerated comedy. This recording stands out from a brief yell because its six-second length can carry across an entire reveal or prolonged reaction. It remains useful because viewers instantly understand the emotion—fear, shock, pain, or panic—even without dialogue or additional context.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Shriek sound effect?

It is a roughly six-second audio clip of a sustained, piercing shriek. The sound is suited to scenes involving fear, surprise, panic, pain, or deliberately over-the-top reactions.

Where does this shriek sound come from?

The original source and performer are not identified in the available information. It should be treated as a standalone vocal sound effect rather than attributed to a specific movie, game, character, or creator.
