About this sound

The famous Epic Sax Guy riff from Run Away, used in memes and edits for sudden swagger, goofy confidence and dramatic, over-the-top reveals.

This clip is the instantly recognizable saxophone break from Run Away, better known online as the Epic Sax Guy meme. It has a bright, punchy dance beat under a smooth sax lead that feels both triumphant and absurd at the same time. The sound works because it turns ordinary moments into exaggerated victories, entrances or punchlines. Even a simple cut to someone walking in, posing or doing something mildly impressive can feel funnier and bigger once this riff starts playing.

This sound is widely known online as the Epic Sax Guy riff from Run Away by SunStroke Project and Olia Tira, Moldova's Eurovision 2010 entry. A performance shot of saxophonist Sergey Stepanov became a major meme, and the looping sax section spread across YouTube, Vine and short-form edits for years. It remains popular because the riff instantly signals ironic confidence, flashy celebration and campy drama, much like other exaggerated meme cues such as the spiderman meme song.
