About this sound

Run Boy Run is a dramatic excerpt from Woodkid's 2012 song, with pounding drums and urgent vocals, often used for chase scenes and determined edits.

This clip captures the urgent, cinematic energy of “Run Boy Run” by French artist Woodkid. Rapid percussion, orchestral layers, and the repeated vocal command create the feeling of a relentless chase or a decisive escape. Its steadily building intensity makes even an ordinary run, workout, or dramatic reveal feel like part of an epic film sequence. The sound works especially well when visuals show someone pushing forward, racing against time, overcoming an obstacle, or leaving trouble behind, adding momentum and a serious, heroic tone.

“Run Boy Run” was released by Woodkid in 2012 and later appeared on his 2013 debut album, The Golden Age. Woodkid is the musical project of French artist and director Yoann Lemoine, whose visually ambitious music videos helped establish the song’s cinematic identity. Its martial percussion, orchestral scale, and simple repeated hook made it effective for trailers, advertisements, sports montages, and online edits.
