About this sound

A drawn-out high-pitched REEEE scream reaction sound used in memes, rage edits and absurd clips when someone wants to show panic, anger or overload.

This clip is the classic long REEEE scream: a sharp, nasal, high-pitched yell stretched out for a few seconds. It lands somewhere between frustration, panic and chaotic meltdown, which is why it works so well as a reaction sound. Creators use it to exaggerate moments of rage, sensory overload, losing in a game, or seeing something painfully cringe. The sound is simple, loud and instantly readable, so even a quick cut to it can make a clip feel more frantic, ridiculous or over-the-top.

The REEEE scream is a long-running internet reaction sound rather than a clip tied to one clear mainstream source. It spread through meme culture, gaming edits and short reaction videos as a shorthand for rage, distress or overload. Variants of the scream appear across soundboards, compilations and remix edits, often with different lengths or pitch. It remains popular because the joke is instantly understood: one loud, exaggerated vocal burst can turn an ordinary fail or awkward moment into a chaotic reaction.
