About this sound

A short Team Fortress 2 Heavy voice clip saying "Pootis," widely used in TF2 memes, shitposts and abrupt punchline edits online.

This clip is the brief, instantly recognisable "Pootis" voice line associated with the Heavy from Team Fortress 2. It is a clipped, goofy human vocal sound with a thick, exaggerated delivery that lands fast and leaves space for a visual gag right after it. Because it is so short, creators use it like a comedic button: it can interrupt a serious moment, underline a dumb reveal, or make a character look bizarrely confident for half a second. Even people who never played TF2 often recognise it from meme edits and remixes.

"Pootis" comes from Team Fortress 2 and is closely tied to the Heavy, whose voice lines inspired years of remix culture and machinima jokes. The sound became especially visible through TF2 meme edits, YouTube shitposts, and the wider "Pootis" and "Pootis Engage" style of animation references. Its staying power comes from how short and unmistakable it is: one odd syllable is enough to signal TF2 humor, internet absurdity, or an intentionally low-budget gag. It often appears alongside other classic game meme sounds like the ROBLOX oof.
