About this sound

The iconic Coffin Dance meme audio from the Ghana pallbearers trend, used in fail clips, sudden cutaways and joke endings online.

This clip features the instantly recognisable Coffin Dance meme audio, a short burst of upbeat electronic music associated with the Ghanaian pallbearers videos. It has a bright, dramatic rhythm that turns an ordinary moment into a mock-serious punchline. Creators use it when a stunt goes wrong, a plan backfires, or a video needs an abrupt comedic ending. Even without visuals, the sound signals that a fail, overreaction or doomed outcome is the joke, which is why it still lands so quickly in short edits.

The Coffin Dance meme took off worldwide in 2020, pairing footage of Ghanaian pallbearers carrying a coffin with the track “Astronomia” by Tony Igy and Vicetone. The format spread rapidly across TikTok, YouTube and meme pages as a way to signal a humorous disaster or inevitable loss. Short edits of the music became a standard punchline for fail compilations, gaming clips and bait-and-switch jokes. It remains popular because viewers instantly understand the setup the moment the melody begins.
