About this sound

A short meme background track used in Only in Ohio edits, reaction clips and absurd videos to make ordinary moments feel cursed or strangely dramatic.

This sound is the background music commonly used in Ohio meme edits, where a normal clip suddenly feels weird, ominous or off in a funny way. It has the kind of tense, uncanny vibe that works behind low-quality images, bizarre cuts and deadpan captions about things happening “only in Ohio.” Instead of drawing attention with a loud punchline, it builds a mood that makes the joke land through contrast. Viewers usually recognize it as a cue that something ridiculous, cursed or unexpectedly chaotic is about to happen.

This sound is tied to the broader “Only in Ohio” meme culture that spread across TikTok, YouTube Shorts and repost pages in the early 2020s. Creators used eerie or dramatic background audio to frame random clips as if they were disturbing local sightings or impossible events. The specific track is often shared simply as Ohio background music rather than by a formal song title, which is why people search for it by meme name. It remains popular because the setup is instantly understood and easy to reuse in short edits.
