About this sound

A loud exaggerated Indonesian laughing sound meaning burst of laughter, commonly used in meme edits to mock fails, embarrassing moments, and chaotic humor reactions.

This sound is a brief burst of exaggerated, grating laughter that feels purposely annoying. The laugh has a sharp, repetitive quality, making it useful when you want a clip to sound obnoxious, childish, or wildly overconfident. In edits, it instantly changes the mood from normal to chaotic and can make a fail, awkward pause, or low-effort joke feel more absurd. Because the laughter is so distinctive, viewers usually read it as a meme reaction rather than a natural laugh, which is why it works well in short comedic posts.

The title uses the word "ngakak," an Indonesian slang term for laughing hard, but the exact source of this specific clip is unclear. Online, it circulates as an annoying laugh meme across short edits, reposts, and soundboards, often tagged with broad labels like irritating laugh or Asian laugh meme. Its staying power comes from how quickly the laugh signals sarcasm, mockery, or chaotic humor. Creators still use it because a few seconds of exaggerated laughter can instantly turn a plain reaction into a meme.
