About this sound

A brief Morshu mmm voice clip from the CD-i game Link: The Faces of Evil, used as a reaction meme for suspicion, satisfaction, or comic hesitation.

This short voice clip captures Morshu drawing out an expressive “mmm” in his distinctive, exaggerated delivery. Lasting less than a second, the sound feels both thoughtful and comically suspicious, making it easy to place between lines or over a character’s reaction. Its abrupt ending gives edits a punchy rhythm, while the familiar Morshu voice adds a layer of absurd nostalgia. Viewers often interpret it as someone considering an offer, enjoying a discovery, holding back a comment, or pausing before saying something questionable.

Morshu is a shopkeeper from the 1993 CD-i game Link: The Faces of Evil. His animated dialogue, unusual cadence, and emphatic sales pitch later became recurring material in online remixes and YouTube Poop videos. The isolated mmm comes from his memorable line about returning when Link is “a little richer.” Editors continue using the fragment because it communicates hesitation or satisfaction almost instantly, while its connection to early Zelda CD-i memes gives it a recognizable, deliberately awkward style.
