About this sound

Gru rallies the Minions to steal the moon in this dramatic Despicable Me quote, used for bold plans, mock villain reveals, and ambitious edits.

This clip features Gru addressing the Minions with a theatrical declaration that they will steal the moon. His exaggerated delivery stretches the final word, turning an already impossible scheme into a triumphant villain moment. The combination of commanding speech, comic accent, and prolonged “moon” gives the audio a playful sense of scale rather than genuine menace. In an edit, it makes an ordinary plan feel outrageously ambitious and instantly signals cartoon supervillain energy. The pause and vocal emphasis also leave room for a visual reveal or punchline.

The line is associated with Gru and the Minions in Despicable Me, the 2010 animated film built around Gru’s plan to steal the moon. Variations of the wording, especially versions that exaggerate his accent and stretch “moon,” circulate as quote clips and meme audio. Creators continue using it because the premise is immediately recognizable and transforms small tasks into comically grand schemes. Its longer delivery also works well for setup-and-reveal videos, character edits, group announcements, and jokes about unrealistic ambitions.
