About this sound

The classic water splash sound effect from Minecraft, used in edits, gaming clips and memes when someone jumps, falls or lands in water.

This clip is the familiar Minecraft water splash sound that plays when a player or mob hits water. It is short, crisp and instantly recognisable to anyone who has spent time in the game, with a light plunking splash that feels playful rather than realistic. In videos, it adds a clean comedic beat for awkward landings, sudden drops, missed jumps or any moment where someone ends up soaked. Because the sound is so tied to Minecraft, it also gives even a simple edit a strong gaming feel right away.

This sound comes from Minecraft, the sandbox game first released by Mojang in 2011. Water interaction sounds from the game became widely reused in edits because they are clean, short and immediately recognisable to players. The water splash effect shows up in gameplay memes, parkour fails, mod videos and short-form clips where a visual landing needs a quick audio payoff. Its staying power comes from Minecraft's huge audience and the nostalgic, unmistakable sound design that many viewers know within a second.
