About this sound

Short Super Mario coin sound effect used when something falls, lands or gets picked up in a meme edit, especially for quick joke reveals.

This clip is the classic bright coin chime associated with Super Mario games, trimmed into a very short punchy sound. It has a clean, arcade-like ring that instantly reads as a game reward or item pickup, even when used ironically. In edits, people drop it over a small object falling, a sudden on-screen label, or a tiny win that does not deserve dramatic music. The result is playful and recognizable, giving a clip a retro game feel without taking over the whole joke.

This sound is widely recognized as the coin pickup effect from the Super Mario game series and has stayed popular because it is instantly readable in very short edits. Online creators use it as a shorthand for collecting, scoring, or noticing a small object on screen. It appears often in meme compilations, gaming posts, and short-form videos where a light retro cue lands better than a heavy impact sound. It fills a similar quick-reward role to the GTA SA Mission Passed sound in game-themed edits.
