About this sound

Mandark's theatrical evil laugh from Dexter's Laboratory, used in memes and edits when a clever plan, petty victory, or cartoon villain moment unfolds.

This clip captures Mandark breaking into his unmistakable evil laugh in Dexter's Laboratory. The laugh rises and falls with exaggerated, nasal delivery, sounding calculated, smug, and gleefully villainous rather than genuinely joyful. Its drawn-out cartoon rhythm gives viewers an immediate signal that someone is plotting, gloating, or celebrating a devious success. Because the performance is so over-the-top, it also works as an ironic reaction when an ordinary action is framed like a master plan. The nearly five-second length leaves enough room for the joke to build before the laugh ends.

Mandark is Dexter's recurring rival in the animated television series Dexter's Laboratory, which premiered on Cartoon Network in 1996. His exaggerated laugh became one of the character's most recognizable vocal traits, reinforcing his role as a brilliant but theatrical antagonist. Clips of the laugh later circulated through soundboards, video edits, reaction posts, and gaming content. It remains useful because audiences instantly understand its villainous intent, much like Nelson's HA-HA from another well-known animated television comedy.
