About this sound

A brief, drawn-out “Banzai” shout attributed to French comedian Coluche, used as a comic reaction for reckless charges, sudden leaps, and chaotic entrances.

This short voice clip features an energetic, drawn-out cry of “Banzai,” attributed in its metadata to French comedian Coluche. The delivery begins forcefully and stretches the final syllable into a theatrical yell, giving it the feel of an impulsive charge or wildly overconfident leap. Its exaggerated tone turns an otherwise simple shout into a punchline. Editors can use it to make a character’s sudden movement seem reckless, heroic, or deliberately ridiculous, especially when the action ends in a crash, failure, or abrupt cut.

The clip’s metadata credits Coluche, the French comedian and actor, but does not identify a specific recording or scene. Coluche starred in Banzaï, a French comedy released in 1983 and directed by Claude Zidi, though the available details do not confirm that this audio was taken from the film. Online, the extended cry works independently as a compact reaction sound. Its clear buildup, exaggerated delivery, and quick duration keep it useful for edits built around reckless confidence, sudden motion, and comic failure.
