About this sound

A short clip of the classic Looney Tunes theme from Warner Bros. cartoons, ideal for cartoon intros, nostalgic edits, comic reveals, and animated punchlines.

This seven-second clip captures the familiar Looney Tunes theme heard around Warner Bros. animated shorts. Its bright brass melody, brisk rhythm, and compact orchestral flourish immediately evoke classic cartoon openings and closing title cards. The music creates a playful, nostalgic mood while signaling that something exaggerated, chaotic, or comical is about to happen. Because the excerpt is brief and instantly recognizable, it works especially well as a transition, an ironic ending, or a musical button after a visual gag in a short-form video.

The familiar Looney Tunes theme is based on “The Merry-Go-Round Broke Down,” a song written by Cliff Friend and Dave Franklin and published in 1937. Warner Bros. adopted the melody for Looney Tunes theatrical cartoons, where orchestral arrangements accompanied opening and closing title sequences. Decades of television reruns introduced it to new audiences, while online creators later used short excerpts as comic endings and nostalgic transitions. Its lively melody remains closely associated with fast-paced cartoon humor and classic animation.
