About this sound

The iconic League of Legends announcer line that plays when a teammate dies. Creators use it for fails, bad trades, and sudden gaming setbacks.

This clip is the classic League of Legends announcer voice saying, "An ally has been slain." It is short, sharp, and instantly recognizable to MOBA players, with a dramatic delivery that signals a teammate getting taken out. The line carries a mix of tension, disappointment, and urgency, which makes it perfect for highlighting mistakes, unlucky moments, or a sudden shift in momentum. Even outside League clips, people use it as a quick audio punchline for any situation where a plan falls apart or someone on your side gets metaphorically eliminated.

This line comes from League of Legends, where the in-game announcer calls out key events during a match. "An ally has been slain" became familiar far beyond the game because it is brief, dramatic, and easy to apply to any losing moment. It spread through gameplay edits, streamer highlights, and meme compilations, especially in clips where a teammate makes a costly mistake. It remains popular because even people who do not play League can understand the joke from the delivery alone.
