About this sound

The eerie "ki ki ki, ma ma ma" whisper from Friday the 13th, often used in horror edits, Jason memes and suspenseful prank reveals.

This sound is the creepy whispered chant commonly associated with Jason Voorhees and the Friday the 13th films. It sounds like a hushed, echoing "ki ki ki, ma ma ma" repeated over a dark, tense background, creating instant dread even in a short clip. People use it when a video needs a sudden horror cue, a stalking vibe or a joke that makes an ordinary moment feel strangely threatening. Even without showing Jason, the sound immediately signals slasher-movie suspense to viewers who recognize it.

This chant is closely linked to the Friday the 13th franchise and composer Harry Manfredini's famous horror motif for Jason. Fans often describe it as "ki ki ki, ma ma ma," a stylized vocal effect tied to the series' eerie identity rather than a full spoken line. Over time, the clip spread far beyond the films into meme compilations, Halloween videos and suspense edits. It remains popular because a few seconds of that whisper instantly suggest a stalking presence and classic slasher tension.
