About this sound

A short clip of the Nickelodeon monkey saying "Hi, I'm Paul." People use it for awkward introductions, random cutaways and absurd meme edits.

This sound is a brief spoken intro where a monkey character plainly says, "Hi, I'm Paul." The delivery is simple and slightly awkward, which is exactly why it works so well in memes. It lands as a deadpan interruption rather than a big punchline, making it useful for surreal edits, sudden character reveals and intentionally low-stakes openings. Because the line is so short and direct, viewers instantly understand the joke: someone or something is being introduced in the most random, matter-of-fact way possible.

This meme sound is commonly identified online as a Nickelodeon monkey clip, and search interest around it often uses phrases like "Nickelodeon hi I'm Paul" and "hi I'm Paul monkey." The audio spread because the line is instantly recognizable, easy to quote and funny without any setup. Its staying power comes from how adaptable it is: creators can drop it into reaction edits, surreal compilations or simple intro jokes, and the understated delivery still gets a laugh years later.
