About this sound

A short clip of the viral “Save the Galvao birds” line, tied to the 2010 Galvão meme. People use it in ironic posts about fake causes and internet confusion.

This sound is a brief spoken clip built around the phrase “Help us save the Galvao birds,” delivered like a sincere awareness message even though the joke is that the cause is fake. It has a deadpan, campaign-style tone that makes it instantly funny in edits, especially when paired with overdramatic captions or mock charity visuals. The humor comes from the mismatch between urgent wording and the absurd meme context, so viewers read it as satire, confusion, or a playful reference to one of the internet’s classic hoaxes.

The phrase comes from the “Cala Boca Galvão” meme that spread on Twitter during the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Brazilian users were posting about TV commentator Galvão Bueno, while many outsiders misunderstood it and repeated the fake explanation that “Galvão” was an endangered bird needing protection. That confusion turned “Save the Galvao birds” into a viral joke, with posts, videos, and parody activism built around it. The meme still appears when people want to parody internet misinformation or performative online causes.
