About this sound

A short clip of Goofy's famous scream from Disney animation, commonly used in memes, fail edits and sudden fall moments for a comic payoff.

This sound is the classic Goofy scream, a rising, wobbly yell associated with the Disney character Pateta, better known in English as Goofy. The clip has an exaggerated, elastic tone that starts with surprise and stretches into a long comedic holler. It instantly makes a scene feel more cartoonish, especially when someone slips, falls or gets launched off screen. Because the voice is so recognizable, even a very short edit can turn an ordinary mishap into a playful gag that feels dramatic without sounding mean.

This scream is tied to Goofy, the long-running Disney character known as Pateta in Portuguese and other languages. Variations of the Goofy holler have appeared across Disney animation for decades, and short clips spread widely online through meme edits, fail compilations and dubbed videos. It remains popular because the voice is instantly recognizable even without context, and it cleanly sells a fall, launch or surprise impact. Online, creators often label it as the Goofy scream or Pateta scream depending on the audience language.
