About this sound

An energetic clip of Survivor's Eye of the Tiger, the 1982 Rocky III theme, used for workout edits, training montages, and determined comebacks.

This clip captures the driving rock energy of Eye of the Tiger by Survivor. Its chugging guitar riff, steady beat, and forceful vocals create an immediate sense of focus and forward motion. Closely associated with training and competition, the music makes ordinary preparation feel like a high-stakes montage. Creators often use it to turn workouts, challenges, recoveries, and humorous attempts at self-improvement into dramatic moments. The recognizable opening also signals resilience before the lyrics or full arrangement have time to develop.

Eye of the Tiger was written by Survivor members Frankie Sullivan and Jim Peterik and released in 1982. Sylvester Stallone requested the song for Rocky III, where it became closely tied to the film's training and fighting imagery. The single reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and became one of rock music's most recognizable motivational anthems. Decades later, its opening riff remains popular in sports videos, workout playlists, parody montages, and online edits about persistence or renewed determination.
