About this sound

The Discordo sound is the brief spoken startup Easter egg from Discord, used in edits about opening the app, hidden features, or chat nostalgia.

This short clip captures the Discordo Easter egg, a playful voice that says “Discordo” when the Discord desktop app starts after the feature has been activated. The pronunciation stretches the familiar app name with a light, unexpected finish, making it instantly recognizable to users who have encountered the hidden setting. Because the sound is brief and clean, it works as both a nostalgic reference and a quick comedic cue. Viewers often associate it with discovering secret features, launching Discord, joining friends online, or remembering older desktop app experiences.

Discordo originated as a hidden Easter egg in the Discord desktop application. Users can activate it by repeatedly clicking the Discord logo, after which the spoken word plays when the app launches. Repeating the same action disables the feature. The clip spread through screen recordings, tutorials, memes, and videos highlighting obscure app secrets. It remains recognizable because it transforms an ordinary startup into a small inside joke. Creators also contrast it with the standard Discord notification when recreating familiar chat and gaming moments.
