About this sound

The famous 'Creeper, aw man' opening line from the Minecraft parody song Revenge, used in memes, gaming edits and nostalgic callback clips.

This clip features the instantly recognizable opening lyric, 'Creeper, aw man,' delivered over the start of the Revenge parody track tied to Minecraft culture. It has a dramatic, catchy sing-song feel that immediately signals a joke, a setup, or a nostalgic gaming reference. Because so many people know the line before the rest of the song even starts, the sound lands fast and gets a reaction with almost no context. It is often used to cue a sudden Minecraft reveal, a bait-and-switch gag, or a throwback to early internet gaming memes.

This sound is best known from 'Revenge,' a Minecraft parody of Usher's 'DJ Got Us Fallin' in Love' created by CaptainSparklez and TryHardNinja in 2011. The opening line became a meme far beyond the full song because even non-players recognized it instantly. It spread through YouTube remixes, gaming compilations, short-form edits, and nostalgic internet culture posts. The clip still works because it combines Minecraft recognition with a punchy setup line that viewers can identify in a split second.
