About this sound

Eric Cartman scanning for Mexicans is a South Park voice clip used in memes and edits for a fake radar search or suspicious character reveal.

This clip features Eric Cartman from South Park delivering his scanning line in a heightened, amped-up delivery, played like a robot radar sweep. His high-pitched, nasal voice repeats the search in a dead serious tone that makes the moment feel absurdly dramatic for such a silly premise. The exaggeration is the joke, turning a throwaway cartoon line into a punchy reaction sound. It lands best when a video pretends to detect someone off-screen, building mock tension before a reveal, a cutaway, or a sudden zoom on the target.

Eric Cartman is one of the main characters in South Park, the animated series created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone that premiered on Comedy Central in 1997. Voiced by Parker, Cartman is known for his shrill delivery and outrageous schemes, which made many of his lines popular as isolated soundboard clips. This amped scanning version spread through meme edits and short video remixes, where creators reuse the radar premise to joke about spotting someone, and it remains in rotation alongside other classic television reaction sounds.
