About this sound

The opening seconds of Megalovania from Undertale, used in gaming edits, boss-fight reveals, dramatic confrontations, and sudden challenge memes.

This clip captures the instantly recognizable beginning of Megalovania, the fast, intense battle theme associated with Sans in Undertale. It opens with a sharp electronic melody and driving rhythm that immediately signals danger, pressure, or an approaching showdown. Because the first notes are so distinctive, the audio can turn an ordinary entrance or minor disagreement into an exaggerated boss battle. Its energetic video game sound also gives edits a nostalgic, dramatic edge without requiring dialogue or additional context.

Megalovania was composed by Toby Fox and appears in the 2015 role-playing game Undertale during the battle with Sans on the Genocide Route. Although versions of the composition existed in earlier Toby Fox projects, the Undertale arrangement became its best-known form. Its forceful opening notes spread through gaming videos, remixes, animations, and meme edits, where they quickly establish a boss-fight scenario. The theme remains popular because viewers can recognize the confrontation cue within seconds, even when it accompanies unrelated footage.
