About this sound

Short clip of AWOLNATION's 'Run' used in memes for danger, panic and fast chases, especially when a scene suddenly turns chaotic.

This sound is a brief, punchy section from AWOLNATION's song 'Run' that people recognize for its urgent, pounding rhythm and rising sense of pressure. In edits, it lands like an instant alarm bell: something bad is coming, someone needs to escape, or a joke is about to spiral out of control. The repeated dun-dun pattern gives it a dramatic, almost cinematic chase energy, which makes even simple clips feel tense and over-the-top. That is why it works so well in reaction memes, fail videos and sudden danger setups.

The sound comes from 'Run' by AWOLNATION, a track that became popular beyond its original release through short-form edits and reaction memes. Online, creators often use this specific rhythmic section as a shorthand for incoming chaos, escape, or a dramatic change in stakes. Its meme life is driven less by the full song and more by that instantly recognizable pounding pattern, which is easy to cut into short clips. That keeps it useful years later for fast visual jokes, chase edits, and exaggerated reaction posts.
