About this sound

The classic ALF laugh from the 1980s TV sitcom, used in memes, edits and reaction clips to underline jokes, awkward moments or smug punchlines.

This clip features the recognizable laugh of ALF, the wisecracking alien from the sitcom ALF. It is a short, bright burst of laughter with a slightly raspy, mischievous tone that instantly reads as cheeky and self-satisfied. Because the show had a broad, joke-heavy style, the laugh works well as a reaction sound when a punchline lands or when someone gets away with something. Viewers tend to read it as playful mockery rather than harsh laughter, which makes it useful for light comedy edits and nostalgic TV meme posts.

This sound comes from ALF, the American television sitcom that first aired in 1986. The title character, a sarcastic alien from Melmac, became known for his jokes, voice and distinctive laugh. Short clips of that laugh have stayed recognizable online because they instantly signal vintage TV comedy. People still use it in meme edits, reaction posts and throwback compilations when they want an old-school sitcom feel that is lighter and more playful than a harsher reaction sound.
