About this sound

A Portuguese Abril Vídeo setup announcement asking viewers to adjust their equipment’s color and sound, often used in nostalgic VHS-style edits.

This clip is a Portuguese spoken announcement associated with Abril Vídeo, prompting the audience to adjust the color and sound settings on their equipment. Its measured delivery and practical wording recall the setup messages heard before older home-video presentations. Rather than featuring dialogue from a film, it functions as a brief technical introduction for viewers preparing to watch. The formal voice, vintage recording quality, and reference to manual television controls give the audio a distinctly retro character that can immediately make an edit feel like an aging Brazilian VHS tape.

This recording is associated with Abril Vídeo, a Brazilian home-video label known for distributing releases on physical media. The announcement belongs to the era when viewers commonly adjusted television color and audio controls before watching a tape. Clips like this later found a second life online through uploads of preserved VHS openings, retro media compilations, and nostalgic edits. It remains useful because its formal Portuguese delivery and equipment instructions quickly evoke analog playback, old television sets, and the presentation style of Brazilian home video.
