About this sound

The iconic CJ quote from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, used as a reaction sound when problems repeat, drama starts again, or a bad situation returns.

This clip is the short spoken line "Ah shit, here we go again" in CJ's tired, resigned voice from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. It has a blunt, deadpan delivery that instantly signals annoyance, dread and acceptance all at once. The sound works because it captures that exact feeling of being pulled back into the same mess for the hundredth time. In edits, streams and memes, people use it to mark recurring chaos, repeated mistakes, fresh drama or any moment where trouble starts all over again.

This quote comes from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, released by Rockstar Games in 2004, and is spoken by protagonist Carl "CJ" Johnson near the start of the game. The line escaped the game and became a widely shared reaction meme across YouTube, TikTok and short-form edits because it perfectly sums up repeated trouble. It often appears in the same style of meme editing as Directed by Robert B Weide, where a setup quickly turns into another predictable disaster.
