A short loud scream that turns into hysterical laughter, used as a meme sound effect for pranks, jumpscares, fails and over the top reaction edits.

This is a brief, piercing scream that abruptly breaks into manic laughter, lasting just under two seconds. It starts with a drawn out ahhh at full volume, tense and startled, then collapses into a cackling ha ha that sounds both panicked and amused. The sudden switch is what makes it funny, turning shock into comedy in an instant. Placed over a face, a fall or a surprise moment, it exaggerates the reaction far beyond what is realistic and signals to the viewer that the moment is meant to be ridiculous rather than serious.

Sounds built around an extended scream followed by laughter have circulated on soundboards and short video apps for years as a shorthand for losing control. With no confirmed original source, this clip spread through reuploads and prank compilations tagged around school humour and reaction edits. It sits alongside the classic goofy yell and other shocked sound clips that creators swap in to heighten a moment. Its staying power comes from timing, the scream grabs attention instantly and the laugh tells viewers how to read the scene.

It is a very short vocal clip of someone screaming ahhh for about a second before bursting into loud ha ha laughter. The whole recording lasts under two seconds and is used purely for comic shock effect.

Where does this scream laugh sound come from?

No confirmed original recording, film or creator has been identified for this version. It circulates as a user uploaded soundboard clip, with file tags referencing school humour, and has been re shared across prank and meme pages without a clear source.

How do creators use this sound in videos?

Creators place it at the moment of a scare, fall or embarrassing reveal, letting the scream match the shock and the laugh carry the joke afterwards. It works best as a single punch in, not as background audio throughout a scene.
