이 사운드에 대하여

The classic vinyl scratch became a meme sound for sudden silence, awkward stops, and comedic scene freezes. Widely used in TikTok clips and internet culture editing humor.

This clip is the familiar sound of a vinyl record being dragged or abruptly stopped, creating a sharp scratchy break that instantly grabs attention. In short edits, it works like a comedic full stop, cutting through music or dialogue to highlight a twist, mistake or embarrassing moment. Viewers recognize it right away as the cue for a freeze-frame, a hard interruption or a sudden shift in mood. Even under a second long, it delivers a very clear punchline setup and makes the scene feel intentionally dramatic or absurd.

The record scratch became a widely recognized comedy cue long before short-form meme culture, coming from the sound of a vinyl record being abruptly interrupted. Online, it spread through reaction videos, YouTube edits, Vines and short meme clips as a quick way to mark a shocking or awkward turn. It is still popular because the meaning is instantly understood even without context: everything stops, the mood changes, and the viewer is prepared for a joke, reveal or failure.
