The Will Griggs on fire football chant sound effect from Euro 2016, used for goal celebrations, sports edits and meme videos about unstoppable strikers.

This clip captures the Will Griggs on fire chant, sung to the tune of Gala's Freed from Desire with the line your defence is terrified repeated in a loud crowd singalong. It is not a studio recording but a raw stadium-style vocal, full of energy, clapping momentum and that slightly chaotic football fan feel. Played over a goal, a winning moment or an unlikely hero edit, it instantly turns the subject into an unstoppable striker. The humour comes from the over the top confidence, making even an ordinary clip feel like a legendary performance.

The chant began at Wigan Athletic in 2016 when fan Sean Kennedy reworked Gala's 1996 dance hit Freed from Desire to praise striker Will Griggs and his scoring run. It spread quickly online, then exploded during Euro 2016 with Northern Ireland, becoming the tournament's unofficial anthem even though Griggs never played a minute. Fans kept singing it for other players afterwards, and the short loop survives on soundboards as a go to celebration for goals, darts, snooker and any sporting upset.
