このサウンドについて

A short tape stop sound effect that abruptly slows and drops in pitch. Common in meme edits, transitions and fake glitch moments.

This clip is a classic tape stop effect: audio rapidly slows down and sinks in pitch before cutting out. Even in under a second, it creates the feeling that time suddenly drags or a record is powering down. Editors use it to sell a dramatic pause, a failed reveal or a punchline that lands with a warped drop. Because the sound is so brief and recognizable, it works well in fast meme cuts, gaming edits and short reaction videos where a normal transition would feel too plain.

Tape stop is a widely used audio editing effect rather than a quote tied to one character or scene. It imitates analog tape or a turntable slowing down, causing a quick drop in speed and pitch. The effect became common in music production, then spread into YouTube, gaming montages and meme edits as short-form video tools made quick transitions easier. It is still popular because a tiny sound can instantly signal interruption, failure, suspense or a comedic slowdown without needing any explanation.

よくある質問

What is the tape stop sound?

It is a short audio effect that makes sound rapidly slow down and drop in pitch, like tape or a record player losing power. People use it to create a sudden stop, awkward pause or dramatic transition in edits.

Where does the tape stop effect come from?

The effect comes from the real behavior of analog tape machines and turntables when playback slows down. In digital editing, producers and meme creators recreate that same falling-speed sound for transitions, jokes and stylized scene changes.

How do creators usually use this sound?

Most creators place it at the end of a line, beat drop or reveal, then cut to a fail, freeze frame or reaction shot. It is especially useful when you want a moment to feel interrupted, deflated or suddenly more absurd.
