The iconic Mortal Kombat announcer voice shouting Finish Him before a fatality, used by gamers and meme creators to signal a final blow or knockout moment.

This is the deep, commanding announcer voice from Mortal Kombat II telling a player to finish off a weakened opponent. Delivered in a single punchy burst, the phrase lands with dramatic emphasis and a slight echo that makes it feel like a stadium call to action. It instantly signals that a fight is almost over and something spectacular is about to happen. Listeners recognise it even without seeing the game, because the tone is urgent, triumphant and a little menacing. In videos it creates anticipation, raises the stakes of a final moment, and makes a knockout, comeback or reveal feel bigger than it would on its own.

Mortal Kombat II, released in arcades in 1993, made Finish Him a signature part of its fighting formula. When a match ended with an opponent stunned and vulnerable, the announcer delivered the line to invite the winner to perform a fatality, the series brutal finishing move. The phrase spread through arcade culture, home console ports and later sequels, becoming shorthand for any decisive ending. It remains popular in gaming videos, streams and memes because it instantly frames a moment as the final, unavoidable blow.

What is the Finish Him sound from Mortal Kombat?

It is the announcer line played at the end of a Mortal Kombat II match when the loser is stunned, signalling the winner can perform a fatality. The short, dramatic voice clip has become one of the series most recognisable audio cues.

Who says Finish Him in Mortal Kombat?

The game's announcer says it, not one of the fighters. In Mortal Kombat II the disembodied announcer calls out match events such as Fight and Finish Him, giving the arcade matches their dramatic, tournament-style presentation.

Why do creators use the Finish Him sound in videos?

Creators use it to mark a decisive ending, such as a final knockout, a debate win or a last reveal. Because listeners instantly associate it with a fatality, it adds tension and humour without needing any extra explanation in the edit.
