It has a dark, cinematic tone with a slow mechanical feel, building tension for a few seconds before resolving into the familiar sting. Even on its own, the audio suggests a game is about to begin, which gives edits a nostalgic and slightly eerie atmosphere.

This sound is best known from Valve's intro and logo sequences that appeared before games published by the company, especially on PC. Over time, players began reusing it in uploads, remixes and meme edits because it instantly evokes classic gaming.
