This sound captures the infamous TV moment when an episode of Dragon Ball Z was suddenly cut off and replaced by breaking news coverage. The abrupt switch from animated fighting and excited dialogue to a serious news report is exactly what makes the clip so jarring and funny in hindsight. The clip comes from September 11, 2001, when Brazilian network TV Globo interrupted its morning Dragon Ball Z broadcast to cover the attacks in the United States. Children waiting for the episode remembered the interruption for years, and the story became a recurring joke in Brazilian internet culture, often told alongside other memories of that day.
