The famous Mario throw voice clip from Super Mario 64, often heard as 'So long, gay Bowser' and used in memes, game edits and joke fails.

This short clip is Mario’s voice line when he grabs Bowser by the tail and throws him in Super Mario 64. The line is famous because many players heard it as “So long, gay Bowser,” even though it is commonly explained as “So long, King Bowser.” It has a bright, cartoony delivery that lands instantly and gives a scene a playful, teasing finish. In edits and memes, it usually works as a punchline for sending someone flying, ending a rivalry, or turning a simple fail into a recognizable gaming joke.

The clip comes from Super Mario 64, released by Nintendo in 1996, during the Bowser boss fights where Mario spins and throws Bowser. The voice line became widely discussed online because many listeners misheard it as “So long, gay Bowser,” turning it into a long-running game meme. It still shows up in retro gaming posts, remix videos, and fail edits because the quote is short, instantly recognizable, and tied to one of the most memorable moments in early 3D platformers.
