The RB15 V6 engine sound is a high revving Formula 1 roar lasting 16 seconds. Creators use it for racing edits, car memes and motorsport videos.

This is a 16 second recording of a V6 Formula 1 engine at full chat, rising and falling through sharp revs with a piercing turbo hybrid scream. The pitch climbs quickly, holds with a raw metallic edge, then drops as the throttle lifts, giving a clear sense of speed even without any picture. There is no music, speech or crowd noise, just the focused mechanical roar. Listeners instantly read it as power and acceleration, which is why a short burst can make a still car photo, a toy car or an ordinary road car feel absurdly fast and dramatic.

The RB15 was Red Bull Racing's Formula 1 car for the 2019 season, the team's first car powered by a Honda V6 turbo hybrid engine. That switch made its engine note a talking point among fans, who shared clips of its high revving sound from testing and race weekends. The recording has since circulated on soundboards alongside F1 radio clips as a shorthand for modern Formula 1 power. It remains popular because the V6 scream is instantly recognisable, even though the cars themselves have moved on to later designs.

What is the RB15 sound?

It is a 16 second recording of a V6 engine revving hard, with the high pitched scream of a Formula 1 turbo hybrid power unit. There is no speech or music, just the rising and falling engine note.

Where does the RB15 name come from?

RB15 was the designation of Red Bull Racing's 2019 Formula 1 car. It was the team's first car to use a Honda engine, which is why fans associate the name with this particular V6 sound rather than an older V8 or V10.

How do creators use the RB15 engine sound?

Creators place it under car, kart and racing game clips to suggest speed and power. It works best in short bursts at a launch or acceleration moment, because the full 16 seconds can easily overpower dialogue or music.
