The ProSieben ad break intro jingle played at the start of commercials on the German TV channel, often used to mark a sudden cut or pause in videos.

This is the short bumper ProSieben plays at the very start of an ad break, a quick musical sting that tells viewers the programme has paused for commercials. It is brief, bright and instantly recognisable to anyone who grew up watching German television, with a polished broadcast feel that cuts cleanly through dialogue or music. Placed over a video, it creates a comic interruption, as if the action has been stopped for a sponsorship message. The joke lands from the contrast between the serious, official tone of the ident and whatever low-key moment it interrupts.

ProSieben is a German free-to-air television channel that launched in 1989 as part of what became the ProSiebenSat.1 group, known for films, series and entertainment shows. Like other broadcasters it uses short ident bumpers to separate programmes from advertising, and this clip is the audio cue for the start of that break. Online, German-speaking editors lifted the familiar sting from TV recordings and reused it in edits and memes, where it now works as shorthand for an unwanted interruption, a dramatic pause or a cutaway to something completely unrelated.

What is the ProSieben sound?

It is the short ad break intro bumper from ProSieben, the jingle played when the channel cuts from a programme to commercials. The clip lasts only a few seconds and works as a clean, recognisable cue that a break has started.

Where does the ProSieben ad break sound come from?

It comes from German television broadcasts on ProSieben, where station idents and bumpers mark the boundary between shows and advertising blocks. Viewers recorded the bumper from TV and it later circulated online as a reusable editing sound for interruption jokes.

How do creators use this sound in videos?

Creators drop it at a hard cut to pretend a commercial break has started, usually for comedy during an awkward pause, argument or fail. It works best unmixed and abrupt, with the picture freezing or cutting away before the normal action resumes.
