The Nemesis growl from Resident Evil 3, featuring his deep, menacing roar as he hunts S.T.A.R.S. members. Used for horror jumpscares and villain entrances.

This is the guttural roar of Nemesis, the towering bioweapon from Resident Evil 3, delivered in a low, distorted growl that fills the full clip. The vocalisation is rough and inhuman, layered over a tense rumble that makes it feel like he is right behind you. There is no music or dialogue to soften it, just pure threat. Played suddenly, it turns an ordinary scene into a horror moment, signalling that something unstoppable has arrived and escape is not an option for whoever is on screen.

Nemesis debuted as the relentless pursuer in Capcom's Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, released in 1999 for PlayStation. Designed to hunt the surviving S.T.A.R.S. officers, the creature became one of gaming's most recognisable monsters thanks to his size, trench coat, and single-minded growl. The sound was later carried through remakes, films, and fan edits, where short clips of his roar were shared on soundboards and in horror memes. Its lasting appeal comes from instant recognition, even without visuals, for anyone who played the original chase sequences.

Who is Nemesis in Resident Evil?

Creators drop it at villain reveals, boss fight starts, and jumpscare moments in gaming videos and horror edits. Because the roar is short and instantly recognisable, it works without dialogue and adds immediate tension before a chase or confrontation begins on screen.
