A short, classic bulb horn honk from the 1941 Donald Duck cartoon Timber, often used for comic timing, cartoon gags and funny reaction clips.

This is a single, sharp squeeze of a classic bulb horn, the kind of quick honk that instantly reads as old-fashioned cartoon comedy. It starts abruptly, rises in a bright, slightly nasal blare and cuts off just as fast, leaving no tail or echo behind. Because it is so short and instantly recognisable, it works as a punchline on its own, signalling a silly mistake, a sudden arrival or a character doing something foolish. Listeners hear it and immediately picture a vintage cartoon world, which is why it still lands so well in modern edits.

This honk was created by Disney sound artist Jimmy MacDonald for the Donald Duck cartoon Timber, released on 10 January 1941. In that era, cartoon sound effects were often made by hand with physical props, and a bulb horn gave animators a simple way to signal clumsiness, surprise or comic timing. The effect later entered stock sound libraries, where it was catalogued as a bulb horn honk and reused far beyond its original cartoon. Its brevity and instantly cartoonish tone have kept it useful for editors who want a quick, recognisable gag without dialogue.
