Mark Goldbridge calls a striker a Poundland Crouch in this viral clip. Creators play it when a tall forward fluffs a sitter in FIFA and football meme edits.

This short clip captures Mark Goldbridge, the football YouTuber behind the That's Football channel, delivering one of his signature rants during a match watch-along. With his trademark exasperated Manchester accent, he dismisses a tall, lanky player as a 'Poundland Crouch' — a cheap, budget knock-off of former England striker Peter Crouch. The insult lands because of the sharp contrast between Crouch's unlikely top-flight success and the player's hopeless miss. Creators drop it into compilations, transfer deadline day meltdowns and FIFA rage edits to brand any gangly forward who cannot finish as a cut-price imitation. It gets a laugh from football fans who know exactly what a Poundland player looks like.

Mark Goldbridge rose to fame streaming Manchester United watch-alongs, where his over-the-top rants turned everyday football frustration into shareable clips. The 'Poundland' insult format — calling a player a discount-store version of a real star — became a staple of football fan culture, with Crouch the natural target for tall but clumsy forwards. Short excerpts from his broadcasts circulate widely as meme audio, because his delivery sells even a throwaway insult. Creators keep using this clip whenever a gangly striker plays badly, turning one rant into a reusable badge of footballing disappointment.
