The classic Benny Hill chase theme, known as Yakety Sax, is a fast saxophone riff used for sped-up comedy chases, fails and chaotic meme edits.

This is the instantly recognisable chase music from The Benny Hill Show, the frantic saxophone tune known as Yakety Sax. In just a moment it sets a scene of pure slapstick chaos, with a bouncy, honking melody that sounds like everyone is running too fast in the wrong direction. Even without any video, the clip tells viewers that something silly is happening and nobody is in control. It turns an ordinary stumble, escape or pile-up into a cartoon chase, making the moment feel lighter, faster and deliberately ridiculous.

The Benny Hill Show was a British sketch comedy series created by and starring Benny Hill, running in various formats from 1955 to 1989. Its closing sped-up chase sequences were set to Yakety Sax, a 1963 instrumental by Boots Randolph and James Rich built around a playful saxophone riff. Those chases became the show's signature gag, and the pairing spread far beyond television through reruns, parodies and later internet memes, where the tune alone now signals a goofy pursuit.

Creators place it under footage that has been sped up, usually a chase, an escape or a series of small fails. Cutting the moment short right as the music stops makes the payoff land harder and keeps the joke feeling snappy.
