The sharp Honda VTEC engine revving sound, with the high-pitched kick as the valves switch over, used by car fans in edits, memes and racing clips.

The clip captures a Honda engine climbing through the rev range before VTEC engages, shifting from a low growl to a sudden, screaming high note that car enthusiasts instantly recognise. It is short, punchy and full of rising tension, ending just as the engine hits its peak. That sharp change in tone is what makes it so satisfying, turning a simple rev into a moment of excitement, surprise or pure speed in a video. Listeners feel the car strain, then surge forward, which gives editors a natural burst of energy to cut to.

VTEC is Honda's variable valve timing system, famous among car enthusiasts for the audible change when an engine switches to its high-lift cam profile at high revs. Recordings of that crossover became popular in car videos, forums and social media edits, where the scream signals performance and excitement. It remains a shorthand for Japanese tuning culture and fast Hondas, sitting alongside other car culture clips like Tokyo Drift Alert in racing montages and meme edits.
