The Tour de France horn is the loud high-pitched FIAMM air horn blasted by roadside fans during the race, used for cycling hype and start line moments.

This is a sustained blast from a high tone FIAMM Eurohorn, the twin air horn sound heard all along Tour de France routes. It starts sharp and piercing, holds at a bright, brassy pitch for several seconds, then cuts off cleanly. The tone cuts through crowd noise, commentary and traffic, which is why it instantly reads as roadside excitement. Played over quiet footage it feels urgent and celebratory, like a peloton is about to rush past, and even a short burst can lift the energy of a scene.

The sound comes from the high tone Eurohorn made by FIAMM, a type of compressed air horn long carried by spectators at the Tour de France. Its piercing blast became part of the race atmosphere alongside cowbells and cheering crowds lining mountain stages and town sprints. Clips of the horn spread online through cycling videos and soundboards, where it was kept as a short, recognisable cue for French road racing. It remains popular because few effects signal a bike race as instantly.
