The classic "Would you like to sign my petition?" voice clip from Postal 2, used in memes, gaming edits and awkward interruption jokes.

This short clip is the instantly recognisable line "Would you like to sign my petition?" delivered in the deadpan, slightly pushy voice from Postal 2. It lands fast, with a polite opener that immediately feels annoying, awkward and funny at the same time. Because the line is so brief, creators use it as a sharp interruption or setup for escalating chaos. The humor comes from how normal the request sounds on paper compared with how absurd, repetitive and pestering it feels in the game and in meme edits.

This sound comes from Postal 2, the 2003 dark comedy first-person game by Running With Scissors, where the Postal Dude asks pedestrians to sign a petition. The line became widely shared online because of its dry delivery and the game's chaotic reputation. Over time, it spread beyond gameplay clips into meme edits, parody skits and reaction videos. It still gets reused because the phrase is simple, instantly recognisable to many players, and perfect for jokes about bothering strangers or making unwanted requests.

What is the "Sign my petition" sound from?

It comes from Postal 2, the 2003 video game by Running With Scissors. In the game, the Postal Dude approaches people and asks, "Would you like to sign my petition?" which later became a widely shared meme clip.

Who says "Would you like to sign my petition?"

The line is said by the Postal Dude in Postal 2. Even people who have never played the game often recognise it from meme compilations, gameplay videos and edits built around annoying interruptions or instant rejection jokes.

Why is the sound so popular in memes?

It works because the line is short, clear and immediately awkward. Creators use it to interrupt a scene, introduce an irritating character or set up a fast punchline where the speaker gets ignored, refused or punished right after asking.
